"A System of Residence Space Construction" – Urban Scale

The development at the urban scale is followed by the emergence of specific urban properties. The variability of the building system, the possibility of management by the users which makes possible the adaptability to a variety of particular local needs, as well as the spatial interactions within a cohesive geometric allocation, favor the development of a high-complexity built space. The spatial allocation of private, public, semi-private spaces, either built or open, forms a sort of "3D neighborhoods". The whole urban space constitutes a unified network with respect to both the static functionality and the distribution of the electromechanical infrastructure. The external surfaces, appropriately  allocated and coated, can be used as collectors of energy which is directly transmitted to the electromechanical network. The cohesive geometric structure makes possible reduction of both the building materials (with respect to a given spatial complexity) and the total length of the pipes / cables of the electromechanical infrastructure. This reduction, in combination with the functional autonomy offered by the integrated infrastructure, the easy utilization of passive energy systems, the elimination of the need of using production tools, as well as the possibility to produce the building system's elements in existing industries, may result in drastic reduction of the social cost of the urban space.
